How to Get a Mentor (For Students)
Looking for guidance in your pharmaceutical career? Follow these steps to connect with a mentor:
Step 1 Browse Available Mentors
Explore our directory of alumni and researchers who have opted in to the mentorship program. Each mentor has a profile showing their background, expertise, and areas they can help with.
Step 2 Send a Request
Find a mentor who matches your interests and send them a mentorship request. Introduce yourself and explain what you'd like to learn and achieve from the mentorship.
Step 3 Wait for Response
Your potential mentor will review your request and either accept or decline. If accepted, you can start connecting and learning from your mentor!
Step 4 Build Your Relationship
Once matched, engage regularly with your mentor. Come prepared with questions, set goals, and make the most of this valuable opportunity to grow your career.
Become a Mentor (For Alumni & Researchers)
Are you an alumni or researcher ready to share your knowledge and experience? Here's how to become a mentor:
Step 1 Update Your Profile
Make sure your PSRA profile is complete with your professional background, current position, and areas of expertise. This helps students find you based on their interests.
Step 2 Opt-In to Mentorship
Go to your profile settings and enable the mentorship option. This makes you visible in our mentor directory and shows that you're open to receiving requests.
Step 3 Review Requests
When students send you mentorship requests, you'll receive notifications. Take time to review each request and decide if you can help the student achieve their goals.
Step 4 Start Mentoring
Once you accept a request, connect with your mentee. Share your experiences, provide guidance, and help them navigate their career path in pharmaceutical sciences.
Tips for a Successful Mentorship
Be Consistent
Set regular check-ins and stick to them. Consistency builds trust and ensures meaningful progress.
Communicate Openly
Be honest and constructive in feedback. Both mentors and mentees should feel comfortable sharing their thoughts.
Set Goals
Define clear objectives for the mentorship. What does the mentee want to achieve? What can the mentor help with?
